Let’s review Noodles & Company!

Launched in 1995, the fast-casual restaurant concept revolves around international noodle and pasta dishes, from mac and cheese to pad Thai. There were once two locations in Wichita, which have fallen to one, but earlier this year a second store opened in west Wichita.

The west side of Noodles & Company is at 3807 N. Maize Road. We decided to drop by and check out the new location of the national chain.

Noodles and pasta dishes from all over the world can be found on their menu. I love Asian inspired dishes and opted for the Korean Spicy Beef Noodles, while my daughter went with the Cheese Garlic Bread.

We had our order to go and stopped at a friend’s house who lived about 5 minutes away so it wasn’t that far from a trip for food.

I say this because when we finally started eating, my daughter didn’t care for the bread. It was really hard and hard for her to bite. She looked at me and said, “I don’t like it.” Thinking it might be dramatic, I took a bite and was able to confirm that it was one of the toughest breads I’ve ever had in a restaurant. We ended up throwing everything in the trash.

The noodles were also a disappointment, unfortunately. The texture was very mushy, with many noodles stuck together. My beef was tough. I enjoyed the flavor of the sauce, which had a little spiciness. The rest of the meal, however, didn’t do much to round out the experience.
